Objective : The Biggest Cuckoo Clock In The World
Arrived at 6.15pm after 307km from St Goar (725km on the car mileage)

One of the small city square. Nothing much to see here. Off to the Cuckoo Clock

THE BIGGEST CUCKOO CLOCK IN THE WORLD!!!! wow. This clock is located in Schonach, in the Clock Park Eble in Schonachbach. It measures 4.50 x 4.50 m, has a total weight of not less than six tons and it took five years to complete it. The cuckoo has a length of 4.60 m and a weight of 150 kg. Notice the pendulum and the two weights in the background. One weight for the clock and one for the cuckoo bird.

What makes every clock ticks using only weight and without a battery

Inside the Cuckoo Clock. The giant mechanics. The two 4 meter tall cupboard-like structure, the bellows on the left is where the sound "cuc" and "coo" comes from. The original idea was to use "cuc-a-doo-dle-doo"...just imagine how many bellows they would need.

Those dials are made so precise. The clock has only few seconds 'off' per day which can be corrected by adjusting the weight which is also visible on the outside.
